Electra Jane – The Beginning

Hey all –

Welcome to the first installment in my new “Electra Jane” section, where my health and wellness coaching and cannabis knowledge come together!

I hope you enjoy this video and it’s RAW quality haha. There is nothing very fancy about mountain/offgrid living so you are more likely to find me without make up on, and wearing comfy clothes, with my generator blaring in the background and things breaking or not working sometimes. Thankfully, cannabis helps to make the troubles fade away!

Electra What-ness?

I’d like to start by saying welcome to Electra Wellness!

I do know however that some of you may be wondering, “What is Electra Wellness? What is this is all about? What ways can this benefit me?”

As I always say, there is a short answer and a long answer to any question. I could simply say that Electra Wellness is a health and wellness coaching business that utilizes many holistic approaches and specializes in medical marijuana coaching. While completely true, that is also only the tip of the iceberg.

Electra Wellness has been a long time coming with my passion for both food, helping others, medical marijuana, and creative writing all coming together in a nice coalescence. Kind of like making a perfect spice blend for a dish that you’re creating.

My original passion for food and a more balanced way of life really stems from my parents. Not only did I inherit some pretty awesome recipes from my mom’s side of the family, I also inherited her love and aptitude for cooking and baking. Not to mention that my middle name Electra was inherited from my great, great, great grandmother, Electra Jane, (hence the name for my business – Electra Wellness). Then there was also the fact that my mom and dad raised me off-the-grid in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, so I was immersed in nature from the very start of life.

Being around nature that young, your eyes can really be opened to a way different way of life. We had all kinds of pets that ranged from chickens to cats to turtles; we even a goat at one point! We grew vegetables and collected eggs from the chickens. Our water came from the creek, and in the winter I collected kindling and brought in wood for our wood fireplace that heated our home.

It could be the coziest of times, and yet it could also be the darkest at times – such as when the generator would break and we couldn’t charge our battery backup system that would run our power and lights.

Looking back now I can see what a huge difference that made in who I am today. It has helped me to appreciate certain things that other people might not ever even think about, such as farm fresh eggs on the table every day, or taking long and strenuous hikes up your driveway.

It was a lot of little healthy habits that I grew up with that then as an adult I have come to see and appreciate, and incorporate into both my personal wellness and coaching practices.

Little things like take a moment to stop and breathe in the scent of the trees and plants around you. Or how to laugh during even the toughest moments in life.

If it wasn’t for my parents I wouldn’t have had such a dim house growing up, but such a bright and electrifying life overall!

It doesn’t take a bunch of fancy gadgets (because those usually don’t work off-grid!) or super complicated methods to get into a healthier and happier state of mind, body and spirit.

I believe in keeping things simple, yet classy. Like a raindrop on a daisy – it doesn’t take much to make something simple look magical.
